Esphyr had a process she used quite frequently. She would make sketches on tissue paper until she had a composition she felt was worthy of further development. Next she would apply graphite to the back of the sheet using a pencil. By baring down on the lines with a pencil or pen she would transfer her line to artist board. After enhancing the line she would then paint the composition with gouache paints. This painting was born of this process.
