The muumuu underwent a fashion transition from tropical island wear that was loose and cool out of necessity, to a fashion trend in the mid-20thcentury. Although Slobodkina was not a trend follower, she embraced the Muumuu for its simplicity and comfort.

This shoulder strap cotton day muumuu features and lightweight print overlay. Slobodkina made the straps from sewing ribbon remnants on soft velour cloth. She added the same pattern to the bottom of the full-length dress.
