Slobodkina abhored wearing earrings. She often sewed them into hats to give the illusion of wearing them. In this hat which is part of the “La Belle Helene” costume, Slobodkina sewed her designed earrings into her home-made gold lame hat. See: SF 2706, SF 2438, SF 2428
