Slobodkina was trained by her mother (a professional seamstress) in sewing skills, crochet and beading. She never needed a pattern and made all clothing using her dress form.

This delightful pull-over vest was crocheted by Slobodkina incorporating two of her favorite color combinations, grey and aqua. The buttons were repurposed from an old blouse.
